We are closing in on finishing the Discipleship Essentials Book with most of our groups. Linda’s groups are studying Andy Stanley’s Starting Points Conversation Guide this summer and fall and some of mine are also. Linda has started an additional new study for a younger group of women this summer.
Friends graciously offered us a cabin in Black Butte so we could get away to study and write. We also walked or biked each day. Here are some photos.
We are posting a few photos here of some of our grandkids. The first one is of three of our granddaughters, Petra, Selah and Evangeline at our home this summer. The second one is of Brock McNown. His West Linn all-star ten year olds baseball team took first for Northern Oregon! Their team and the Southern Oregon first place team will travel to play ball at Regionals in Montana in latter July. Brock plays third base and pitcher. The third photo is of Jude and Isla Rose.
JUDE EBEL UPDATE:
Several of you have asked about how our grandson, Jude Ebel, is doing and have told us you continue to pray for him. We are so very thankful for your prayers!
For those who do not know, Jude has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and his Caring Bridge website for updates is: www.caringbridge.org/visit/judeebel Donations can be made to Jude’s Medical Fund by going to the Contribution page at www.rollinghills.org and selecting The Jude Ebel Fund.
In California therapy continues only in a public preschool after the third birthday. Jude tested out to be in the highest special needs class. He has a wonderful Christian teacher who says she already loves Jude.
Jude is cautiously getting to know his new little sister, Isla, who was born Dec. 14, 2009. We are all thankful that Isla does not have TSC.
Prayer praises and requests for Jude are:
1. PRAISE GOD that Jude was weaned off his anti-seizure meds and he does not have seizures! Also an answer to prayer is that he is enjoying his preschool where he gets therapy.
2. He was recently diagnosed as highly functioning autistic, so he will be getting additional therapy for this as well.
3. Wisdom for Seth and Vanessa in knowing the best ways to discipline Jude effectively.
